Faxing a paper document? Scan it first

iPhones have a great scanner built in: open the Notes app → new note → camera icon → Scan Documents. Hold the phone over the page, save, and share as a PDF. Then attach that PDF in Faxer and you've turned your phone into a fax machine with a scanner.

Frequently asked questions

Can I really send a fax from my iPhone?

Yes. Apps like Faxer.me send your document over the internet to a fax network, which delivers it to the recipient's fax machine like a normal fax. The recipient can't tell the difference.

How much does it cost to fax from an iPhone?

In the Faxer.me app, 1 credit sends 1 page. Credits cost $0.99 for 1, $2.99 for 5, or $9.99 for 25 — bought as one-time In-App Purchases, not a subscription.

Do I need a fax number to send a fax from my phone?

No. Sending a fax doesn't require you to have a fax number — you only need the recipient's number. Faxer handles the transmission from its own fax network.

How do I fax a paper document from my iPhone?

Scan it first with the built-in Notes app (tap the camera icon → Scan Documents), save or share it as a PDF, then attach that PDF in the Faxer.me app.

Is there a Faxer app for Android?

An Android app is in development. Until it ships, Android users can send faxes from the browser at faxer.me — no app or account needed.
