Tips so your PDF faxes cleanly
Fax is black and white at roughly 200 dpi, so a few things are worth checking before you send:
- Contrast beats color. Colored text and highlights become shades of gray — keep anything important dark on a light background.
- Avoid tiny type. Text below ~8pt can blur at fax resolution.
- Unlock protected PDFs. A password-protected file can't be rendered for transmission — print it to a new PDF first.
- Letter/A4 pages work best. Unusual page sizes get scaled to fit standard fax paper.
